Sharing five interesting things I learned on my recent trip to Glasgow, Scotland with Hendricks Gin. From their distillery design & production process, to getting to know Master Distillery Lesley Gracie, take a behind the scenes look at Hendrick's Gin. Also, take a shot every time I say "interesting" - you won't. ;) A little more on the Distillation & Production Process www.hendricksgin.com/us/...
Mai Tai's in St. Lucia with Chairman's Reserve
Просмотров 9815 лет назад
In early March, me and a group of other bartenders from around the world took a trip to St. Lucia for the Chairman's Reserve Mai Tai Competition. This was the first year that Chairman's Reserve decided to pair international bartenders with bartenders local to St. Lucia for the competition. The purpose was to engulf the international contestants into the culture of the island. The days leading u...
Off the Grid with Trä•Kál
Просмотров 9075 лет назад
In early February, me and a group of 12 other bartenders took a trip to the Chilean side of Patagonia with an emerging spirit brand named Trä•Kál. It's a spirit distilled from apples and pears, spiced with herbs & botanicals unique to the area. What's different about Trä•Kál is that it is not only a brand, but a spirit. It received it's own classification by the FDA, and the purpose of the trip...

How to Stock Your Home Bar (When Starting Out)
Просмотров 76 тыс.7 лет назад
A lot of people frequently ask what bottles I recommend when starting out in the world of home bartending. If I could go back to the beginning, knowing what I know now, this is what I would pick up. I take the approach of someone looking to learn the classic cocktails like an old fashioned, manhattan, martini, margarita, and more. Recommendations: Bourbon: Old Grand Dad, Bulleit, Four Roses (ye...
How To Make Clear Ice
Просмотров 27 тыс.7 лет назад
I'm a huge fan of making clear ice. Mainly because I'm high maintenance, but it actually does matter when crafting cocktails at home. It's super easy to do, and just makes the overall presentation that much better (especially if you have friends over). The journey started on Instagram, but I thought I'd give a little inside perspective into my world as a semi-decent home bartender and content creator. I'm highly imperfect, but learning and growing one day at a time. I've always much preferred documenting the journey, rather than looking back on it wishing I had captured the real moments. Hendricks gin and Jagermeister that will be an explosive herbal tonic - since Jager does carry a bit of herbal blends within it. Never had both yet me researching led me to an assumption of both those being a crazy tonic of herbs and spices. Sounds delight! Cheers mate

Found this while have a Hendricks and tonic and wondering where it was produced. Thanks for the mini tour. It is now on the list of places to visit. My ears perked up at the mention of combining gin with mezcal. Couldn’t find it ‘listed below’ but I’ll definitely search out a recipe.

There's this juice by minute maid called aguas fresca strawberry. Take 2 shots of hendricks with a half cup of ice and fill it to the brim with said juice. It is amazingly refreshing 😊😊

The recipe breakdown is in the full video on my channel, but for reference it is 1.5 oz aged rum, 1 oz Eggo Nog, and 1/2 oz maple syrup. Shake it up with ice, and strain into a rocks glass over ice. Cheers!

Thank you for the video. I truly believe Hendricks has something beautiful going on. I have crohns disease and it's one of the only drinks I can have straight up (since mixers screw with me) without having a flare up. I tried Bombay to save money and it really screwed with my body. I'll pay the premium tag price for this gin.

I don't mean to be pedantic, but that's a miter saw (used for cutting lumber at an angle in a miter box), not a hack saw. When the ice dulls that thing, it's gonna have to go into the trash unless you want to spend a lot of time with a file. An actual hacksaw, which is a broad U-shaped frame (equipped with a coarse-toothed blade) would actually be a great idea, as the blades are cheap and disposable. (Harbor Freight will sell you a hacksaw frame for $5, and you can get blades for a couple bucks ea. from all sorts of places.)

It's worth remembering that wine-based drinks like vermouth will start to go bad after opening (like wine does). Vermouth should be kept in the refrigerator after opening and will last about 2 months before it starts to really taste bad.

I would put the Martinni and the Manhatten in the same category as foundational cocktails. A Manhatten is basically a Martinni made with Whiskey and Sweet Vermouth rather than gin/dry vermouth. Same technique and ratios but just different ingredients and garnish.

Great video! I was a Bombay Sapphire gin drinker for many years. I was at the Russian Vodka Room in N.Y.C. one evening and ordered a Bombay Sapphire Martini. I was told that they were out of Bombay Sapphire, would I like to try Hendricks? I did and have never gone back since then. No comparison. Almost like drinking water with the botanicals. Incredible gin. Thank you Apartment Bartender for this video.
